5 Essex Court is delighted to welcome Alison Hewitt who joins us from Temple Garden Chambers. Alison is a very experienced civil practitioner with a particular expertise in Inquests and coronial law, and related judicial reviews. In 2011 Alison acted as Counsel to the Inquest in three major inquests (Ian Tomlinson, Naomi Bryant and Nunes and Markland) and she regularly appears for Interested Persons. In addition Alison has a strong disciplinary practice, in particular being frequently instructed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council and the General Dental Council, and experience of employment law and catastrophic personal injury claims. Alison sits as a Deputy Assistant Coroner and is a contributor to the Coroner’s Bench Book.
