Mark Thomas has just returned from the Florida Bar Association advanced trial advocacy course.

Mark was among four barristers from England to be awarded a scholarship to take part in this week long programme held at the University of Florida in Gainesville.

The course was attended by over 100 senior American trial attorneys and focused on personal injury, professional negligence and jury trials.

On his return, Mark commented, “this was a fantastic opportunity to learn how our transatlantic colleagues approach civil trials. Whilst they certainly have a different approach to the Courtroom, it was particularly useful to contrast this with the way we represent clients in the UK”.
